School Based Clubhouse Director (full time)
Our School-Based programs typically run from 6:30 - 9:00 AM and 2:30 - 6:00 PM. Administrative responsibilities are handled from 9:00-10:30 AM. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Implementation of educational and recreational after school activities
-Daily interaction with parents
-Create, organize and post a weekly schedule of activities
-Promote and stimulate interest in all programs
-Oversight and management of part time staff
-Interaction with teachers and principals and other school personnel
-Adhere to State of CT licensing requirements
-Serving as a positive role model for children in our program

Must be at least 20 years of age. School-Aged Head Teacher Certificate from the State of CT or appropriate educational requirements to achieve certification.  Knowledge of and experience working in a recreational/educational setting is a plus. CPR/First Aid/Medication certified preferred.  This is a full time, year round position, 37.5 hrs/wk with benefits. School Based Clubhouse Program Assistant
Program Assistants are directly responsible for delivering and implementing age appropriate programming. Program Assistants help the program director in providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children. Experience working with children in an educational and/or recreational setting is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Program Implementation.
  • Provide adequate supervision for the day-to-day direct care of children.
  • Assist in the preparation of snacks.
  • Planning and developing age appropriate activities.
  • Being active in all aspects of child development, education and recreation .
  • Serve a positive role model for children.
  • Implement positive techniques in the guidance and discipline of children.
  • Ensure safety in all program areas.
  • Engage children in positive recreational and educational activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor that promotes teamwork among all staff.
The program assistant positions are part time with a maximum of 27.5 hours per week. The typical AM shift is from 6:30 - 9:00AM and the typical PM shift is from 3:00 - 6:00PM.

Time Period Needed:
•    Monday through Friday from 12-8pm throughout the school year at our main Clubhouse. (September-June)
Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Facilitate STEM learning experiences that engage students in problem-solving, critical thinking and reflective learning.
•    Establish a culture of high expectations that includes goals and objectives for all students.
•    Plan, instruction, and design STEM learning experiences for students.
•    Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress.
•    Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills consistent with a positive youth development environment.
•    Identify unique student needs and collaborate with other team members.
•    Interact effectively with co-workers, volunteers and the general public.
•    Maintain a clean and safe program area.
•    Be on time & dressed appropriately.
Position Requirements:
•    Content knowledge and/or experience in science, coding, computer science or engineering.
•    Design curriculum and procure materials and supplies for STEM activities.
•    Familiarity with educational technology, knowledge of diverse student needs and different learning styles is essential.
•    Ability to integrate technology creatively into lessons and activities.
•    Experience in CAD software. (Computer Aided Drafting)
•    Have strong organizational skills, be a self-starter, and an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
•    Patience and drive for positive youth development.
•    At least 16 years of age.

•    Monday through Friday from 3-7:30pm throughout the school year. (September-June)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)

•    Plan and oversee the administration of core area programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes:
o    Establish program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
o    Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
o    Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area.
o    Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
Position Requirements:
•    Energetic and enthusiastic leader interested in a career in youth development. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
•    Proven leadership ability in the creation and delivery of education, leadership and sports programs for youth in a Boys & Girls Club, camp and/or community center setting. Ability to lead and knowledge of sports programs a must.
•    Experience in the development of programs and activities for children and teens from public housing.
•    Strong communicator in both written and verbal forms.
•    Physically capable of carrying out assigned duties with expectation of being active majority of hours.
