School-Based Division Parent "She gained independence and self-advocacy."
I cannot say enough about Miss Kelly and the entire Bristol Boys and Girls Club staff at (our school). My daughter has been going to their after-school program since first grade. When the time came for my husband and I to find alternate after school care I was apprehensive to send my daughter there. My youngest has mild autism so of course I have more concerns for her than your average neurotypical child. I remember when she was in first grade her teacher at the time reached out to me and vouched for Miss Kelly and her staff. I have to say it was one of the best moves we made as a family for her. She gained independence and self-advocacy. She developed lifelong friendships with neurotypical classmates that were fostered under Miss Kelly’s watchful eye. She carefully guided her into social situations that we otherwise may have missed if we had kept her home with a babysitter after school. Miss Kelly is ingenious when it comes to activities for kids even when weather confines them inside. From science labs, crafts, sports, and even dance parties she has masterfully made the program what it is. I am forever grateful for her and will continue to faithfully support her at the Club.
