The Boys & Girls Club and Family Center of Bristol Crush Volleyball travel team emerged victorious at the Amherst, New Hampshire Volleyball tournament held on Sunday, April 11, 2010. In their first year of fielding a travel volleyball team, the Club's Crush has won three out of four of the tournaments they have played in throughout the region. "Recently, the team was elevated to a higher division within the league, based on the caliber of their play to date," stated Coach David Pecevich. "We are very proud of the girls that they again rose to the occasion and showed the other teams what Bristol's proud sports tradition is all about.
Eight teams from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut competed in the tournament. The Bristol Crush went undefeated in pool play, won two straight in the semi-finals, then played a very strong team from Rhode Island. Crush won the first game, lost the second, and won the third 15-12. Every player performed very well. However, Jessica Hubina's spikes, sets, serves, and floor play were outstanding. Cassie Estes, Anna Thomas, Alyssa Fendt, Erika Daigle, Anna Dupaul, Alexis Estes, Morgan Goodrich, and Maggie Getler also played very well.
