ROOKIE LEAGUE
Each summer the Club hosts a Rookie League baseball clinic for children ages 5-8. The Rookie League is a safer version of live-pitch baseball for players who are interested in baseball skill-building. The program uses a pitching machine instead of a live pitcher and concentrates on teaching skills and sportsmanship.
Led by Club Unit Director Jay Maia and high school baseball stand-outs, the Rookie League meets on Wednesdays during the summer at Wilson Field on King Street. The fee is $45 and a $15 Club membership for non-members.
ROBERTO CLEMENTE
SUMMER BASEBALL LEAGUE
Each summer, the Club partners with the Bristol Youth Services Department and the Bristol Police Department to host the Roberto Clemente League in the Cambridge Park public housing unit. Open to children ages 6-16, the League provides a fun activity for the kids, as well as opportunities to interact with caring, adult professionals. This program is open to all Club members and members of the public on a space available basis.
