Fiondella Fund Provides Technology for Teens
For the second year in a row, the Boys & Girls Club has been working with the Main Street Foundation and Mr. Bob Fiondella to continue an award for seniors in high school, who are Boys & Girls Club members, and college bound.
The Fiondella Fund was created to assist in the funding of this project. Thanks to Mr. FIondella’s vision and forward thinking, the Boys & Girls Club was able to provide five laptops in 2006 to Club Members heading off to college in the fall.
This year, The Fiondella Fund awarded five state of the art laptops to current Club members who are attending college in the fall. This year’s recipients are Yasmin Elgohary, Italo Marino, Michael Granger, Michelle Mazzulla and Camelia Lopez. Upon receipt of their laptops, this year’s recipients will take part in a training facilitated by Club Staff on proper installation and setup of their computers.
Through the continued support of Mr. Fiondella and the Main Street Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club will be able to assist college bound Club members in their pursuit of a higher education. Opportunities like this help the Club in cultivating tomorrow’s community leaders and help in truly making us The
Positive Place for Kids.
